studio policies

• Food and drinks must remain in the lobby. Clear water in a bottle with a lid only in the studio.
• No students in studio without supervision.
• No large jewelry.
• Personal belongings should remain in lobby cubbies — We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. 
• No cell phones during class. Phones should be on silent while class is in session.
• Parents/dancers: please do not interrupt a class to speak with a teacher or student.
• Appropriate shoes required for each class. No street shoes allowed in the studio; bring a separate pair of sneakers for hip hop.
• Check the dress code for specific rules for each class. Failure to dress accordingly may result in the instructor having the dancer sit out during class.
• Students may be dropped off 10 minutes prior to their class start time and must be picked up within 10 minutes of class ending. Instructors are not responsible for dancers outside of their designated class times.
• Our studio lobby is quite small, and we would like to reserve the space for students as they prepare for class or wait to get picked up. Unless necessary, please refrain from waiting in the studio lobby during your child's class. All students must wait inside the building until their parent/guardian has arrived to pick them up.
• Summit Studio should be your home away from home! Clean up after yourself and be respectful of the space and each other.

The Code of Conduct applies to students, teachers, and parents.

No Tolerance Policy: 

• This applies to any concerns of bullying, complaining, gossiping or speaking negatively of another student, teacher, or other studio.

Dance appropriate attire is required for the safety of all dancer. NO jeans at anytime. 

• Minis Hip Hop/Tumble Combo: Clean sneakers for hip hop, barefoot for acro. Tights/leotard, leggings/spandex, form fitting tank top/t-shirt are all appropriate attire options.
• Minis Jazz/Tap/Ballet Combo: Your favorite leotard and tights (shorts or skirts are appropriate to wear over leos)! Ballet shoes and tap shoes.
• Ballet: Tights and ballet shoes required. Leotard/skirt/spandex shorts or spandex shorts/form fitting top are appropriate. No baggy attire. Hair must be pulled back or into a bun.
• Technique Combo Classes: Form fitting attire is best. Pirouettes recommended. 
• Hip Hop: Loose fitting clothing is acceptable! Jeans are still not acceptable. Please have a different pair of sneakers designated for hip hop -- no street shoes.
• Tap: Tap shoes required.
• Acro: Form fitting attire. No shoes - barefoot.
• Stretch & Strength: Form fitting attired. No shoes - barefoot.
• Leaps & Turns: Pirouettes required.
