tuition policies
below is SIMPLY a recap of what was signed when ENROLLING. REVIEW ALL SIGNED POLICIES CAREFULLY!
- Tuition is based on a 30-week calendar, and each month is the same tuition rate whether there are 3 weeks in the month or 5 weeks in the month. Tuition is payable through 8 monthly tuition payments to begin on September 15th through May 15th. SS does not send statements or invoices for tuition unless your payment is past-due. Tuition is not prorated for missed classes or snow days. Make-up classes are allowed and can be scheduled through the front desk.
- Tuition is due by or on the FIFTEENTH of each month. SS requires that you have a current credit card on file for all payments. This credit card will be charged for all studio related items including tuition and your balance will be automatically charged on the fifteenth of each month. If you would like to pay with another form of payment, you may do so before the fifteenth of the month. Other acceptable forms (besides credit card) are cash or check.
- Registration Fee: By enrolling in a class, you will be charged a non-refundable $35/dancer annual registration fee at the time of your registration. This fee covers administrative and facility costs for the year. You are not charged this fee for workshops or special events.
- Late Fee: After the 20th of the month, your account will be considered in default, and a late fee of $25 will be assessed to your account. Both your tuition and the $25 late fee will be charged to your card on file.
- Refunds/Exchanges: All services are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Once registered in a class: Regardless of paying monthly tuition or tuition in full, the student is enrolled indefinitely throughout the designated season until you - as parent/guardian - choose to fill out a withdrawal form to remove the student. You must follow Cancellation of Services protocol as outlined below.
- Cancellation of Services: To discontinue services, cancel classes and/or stop tuition charges, you must provide SS with a 30 day written notice via email. This notice must include our studio withdrawal form, which you may receive by emailing the studio owner. If you do not receive confirmation of your request within 3 business days of said cancellation notice, please call the owner. Failure to attend class does not release you from your contractual agreement with SS. If you fail to follow this procedure, you are responsible for all tuition, late fees, and any and all outstanding balances until such notice is given as outlined above.
- Small Class Policy: There must be at least four students in a class for the class to continue. If a class falls below the minimum, it may be cancelled at any time throughout the year. There will be no refunds for lessons already given (whether or not the student was in attendance). Summit Studio will do its best to move the students in cancelled classes into another class of similar style and/or level. In the instance we cannot enroll student in a suitable transfer class, any future tuition that has already been paid will be fully reimbursed.
- Showcase: It is understood that all registered students will participate in the annual Showcase, typically held mid-May. There will be an additional showcase fee and costume fee associated with this performance. Specific costs TBD, but approx. $75 showcase fee/dancer and $65 per class costume fee.
